Original smithy and adjoining cottage, now one house. Probably
early C18, restored late C20. Random coursed rubble stone, stone
slate roof, renewed stone ridge and end stacks. Single long range
of single storey and attic, and small single storey wing,
originally separate forge, to right. Stonework of main part in 3
sections, that to left being blind. Central section has 2 hipped
2-light dormers through eaves and two 2-light below with concreted
splayed brick voussoirs - all C20 casement and vent windows - with
central C20 six-panel door with hipped porch hood. Right-hand
section has hipped dormer with 3-light below with concrete lintel.
Single casement on street gable of original forge. To far left,
decorative wrought-iron gate of door height with initials and date
"AHP 1939".
