Holmdene, incorporating the Boat Shop

House at end of row, with ground floor shop. Late C18. Coursed
rubble, slate roof, brick end stack to left. Alternating flush
quoins to left hand corner. Single front range with long rear
wing, formerly wool carding workshops, with corrugated asbestos
roof. Three storeys. Three windows arranged as 2 to left, one
to right, 6-pane sashes with timber lintel to second floor, 12-pane
sashes to first floor with large flush stone wedge lintels.
Ground floor has small C19 plate glass shop front to left with
moulded consoles and cornice, door of 4 flush panels and 12-pane
sash to centre, both with similar wedge lintels, lower former
doorway to right with chamfered timber lintel and small C20 twelve-
pane sash. Building now incorporates part of Northville (q.v.)
adjoining to rear on right.
