14/222 Tinkers' Cottage

GV II

Formerly 2 cottages at northern end of Tinkers Row (now Waterloo
Lane), converted to one fronting on to Milton Street. Dated 1785
on north gable end. Random coursed rubble stone, stone slate
roof, stone stacks raised in brick. End of single long range with
small lean-to at former rear, now along Milton Street. Single
storey and attic. Small gable to east with paired 6-pane
casement, and two 3-light casements with timber lintel on ground
floor and blocked doorway. Door on north side in rear lean-to,
with flanking single lights, two 6-pane paired casements on first
floor, one 4-pane sash to left on ground floor, all with timber
lintels.
