5/61 Wise's

GV II

Former farmhouse, now private house. Early C18, altered in C19.
Coursed and dressed rubble stone with alternating flush quoins,
stone slate roof, stone end stacks and one ridge stack. Single
range of 2 storeys and attic. Four windows, 2-light stone mullion
and transom with leaded lights between ridge and left end stacks
which is a flying easement of adjoining Wise's Cottage (q.v.), and
two C20 casements below. Between ridge and right end stacks
symmetrical front of C19 with 2-storey shallow projecting embattled
ashlar square bays with twin 4-pane sashes to each floor, flanking
single 4-pane sash on first floor and large square porch also with
cornice and embattled blocking course, as bays. Three hipped
dormers with twin casements above this side. Right hand gable
end to street has single stone attic light with square hoodmould
and blocked window opening on ground floor. Single stone attic
light to left hand gable end. Rear has three 2-light stone
mullions with square hoodmould and one blind, and large C19 gabled
porch with tile roof.
