5/65 Chestnut Cottage

GV II

Small detached cottage. Early C17. Rubble stone with quoins,
stone slate roof, stone stack to rear gable end, raised in brick.
Small square cross-gabled structure of single storey and attic with
small single-storey extension to rear, with brick stack and
further extension with double Roman tile roof. Left hand gable
end has 2-light chamfered stone mullion with straight dripmould and
wood casement over 3-light similar. Gabled porch of C19 to left
on south gable with plank inner door in wood surround. Small
raking dormer to right of this gable and small 2-light casement
below. Blocked newel light to right of rear stack and inserted
single light to left.
