9/97 Former horse engine house and
adjoining stable at Castle Hill
Farm

Former horse engine house and adjoining small stable block. Rubble
stone, stone slate roof. Horse engine house circular with conical
roof supported on very large crossed beams and struts to each
rafter. Wide opening to west with window to left. Opening at rear
into barn. Roof overlaps that of stable and circular wall ceases
at this point. Stable single storey of 4 bays with stable doors to
south, small inserted ridge stack and bellcote on west end with
saddlestone and cross and former clock space below. Three plank
doors on north side into rear of stalls.
