Barn in grounds of Sycamore House (q.v.) dated 1792 on triangular
datestone at apex of porch gable and attached outbuildings probably
of similar date. Roughly coursed limestone rubble, dressed quoins.
Barn roof; stone slate on pitch facing house, slate at rear.
Lean-to with corrugated asbestos roof. Outbuildings; concrete
tile and corrugated asbestos. Barn rectangular in plan with
projecting gabled porch on south side. Lean-to right of porch.
Outbuildings at left gable end. Barn. Double width entrance with
sliding door with glazing above to gabled porch. Pigeon loft with
projecting stone landings in porch gable and side walls. Plank
door in left-hand wall of porch (matching blocked doorway in wall
opposite). Double doors within lean-to right of porch. Former
double width opening in wall opposite porch, now blocked with
window inserted. Quatrefoil owl hole at apex of right gable end,
two triangular pigeon holes lower down gable. Single triangular
owl hole in left gable end. Outbuildings attached left; main
range single storey and loft with access via stable door with
dressed stone surround and keystone in side wall. Single light
casement right. C19 plank door with strap hinges in gable end to
loft, shuttered window below. Single storey extension projects
forwards left of stable door. Two-light steel casement with
horizontal glazing bars within gable end. Barn interior; 4 bays,
original tie beams with C20 struts.
