Two cottages semi-detached . The Thatched Cottage C17, Rose
Cottage possibly late C17-early C18. C20 extensions to rear of
both cottages not of special interest. Coursed squared and dressed
limestone and sandstone, brick stacks on ashlar stumps, thatched
roof to The Thatched Cottage, slate roof to Rose Cottage.
Rectangular plan with projecting bread oven from right gable end of
The Thatched Cottage. Rose Cottage, symmetrical facade, 2 storeys,
2-windowed, 2-light casements to first floor; 2-light double-
chamfered, stone-mullioned casements with stopped hoods to ground
floor, central plank door within porch comprising corrugated iron
canopy supported on breeze block walls. The Thatched Cottage; 1 1/2
storeys, upper floor lit by eye-brow dormer with C19 three-light
metal casement. Blocked doorway lower left with 2-light C20 stone-
mullioned window in blocking, 2-light double-chamfered stone-
mullioned window lower right. Gable-end stacks. Limestone flag
retaining wall to gardens at front.
