3/99 Old Mill House and former malt
house, Donnington Brewery
GV II
House and former malthouse, now store. House early-mid C19;
malthouse C18 - C19 and C20. House; coursed squared and dressed
limestone, artificial stone slate roof, ashlar stack and brick
stack. Malthouse coursed squared and dressed limestone, concrete
tile and slate roof. House, rectangular plan, 2 storeys and attic
lit by two 2-light roof dormers. 3-windowed; 1, 2 and 3-light
casements with leaded panes. Fielded 6-panel door with upper
panels glazed off-centre left. Raking canopy supported on wooden
brackets over. Flat gable-end coping. Gable-end stacks. 3 fire
insurance plaques one Sun, two Protection with phoenix.
Malthouse; rectangular plan with C20 projecting porch off-centre
right. 3 storeys. Plank door down steps lower right. 2-light
window in segmental-headed surround to first floor. 2-light
windows to second floor. Almost flat-arched opening at front of
C20 porch with circular bull's eye window over. Parallel ridge
roof with 5 skylights, flat gable-end coping at left end with roll-
cross saddle, hipped gable end front right, pyramidal roof of
former malting rear right with square ventilation lantern with
wooden louvres and weather vane at top. Interior not inspected.
