4/113 Evenlode House
Detached house. C16-early C17, C19, west and south fronts early
C20. Large coursed squared and dressed sandstone, limestone slate
roof, ashlar stacks. L-shaped plan with projecting stack and
stairs projection,rear left of main body, partially obscured by C19
single storey lean-to. Service wing extending back rear right with
C19 extension onto gable-end. Main body, west front: 2 storeys and
garret, 5 bays, two 2-storey canted 6-light bay windows left.
Cotswold dormers with moulded corners and slit lights above. 4-
light raking dormer far right. One and 2-light casements with C19
ovolo-moulded stone-mullions, leaded panes and stopped hoods. C20
eight-panelled door. Original ovolo-moulded stone-mullioned
casements in left gable-end. Rear of main body: two original
double-chamfered stone-mullioned casements, one partially obscured,
with stopped hoods to stairs projection, one 2-light and one 3-
light original ovolo-moulded stone-mullioned window, one blocked,
2-light ovolo-moulded stone-mullioned window to service wing; C20
casements with and without glazing bars also. Flat gable-end
coping with roll-cross saddles to main body. Gable and axial
stack. Axial stacks to service wing.
