Milestone. Probably mid/late C18, Bath to Cirencester road
turnpiked in 1743. Single rounded stone slab about 0.5m high, with
attached iron plate painted white and embossed black lettering.
Inscription reads "XVII / To CIRENCESTER / VII / To TETBURY / XVI /
To BATH".
