11/7 Barn c60m south of Aldsworth Manor
(formerly listed under Manor
23.1.52 Farmhouse and barn)

Barn and range of loose boxes. Late C18. Limestone rubble, stone
slate roof to barn, pantile roof to loose boxes. Long rectangular
plan with range of loose boxes on south-east side. Projecting
gabled porch on north-west side, plank door and blocked double
width opening right. South-east side, steps up to former access to
loft right, now removed, double doorway left. Single-storey loose
boxes run forwards left. Access to each loose box formerly via
single width plank door with window left (windows and doors no
longer in position). Stone steps up to loft at left gable end of
barn. Ventilation slits. Flat gable-end coping.
Interior; barn divided into 2 parts (formerly comprising porched
barn of 5 bays and an adjoining 3 bay barn). Varying queen post
roof trusses mainly with braced raised tie beam, triple purlins,
struts and collar. Ordinary queen post trusses with struts and
collar with 'V'-struts flanking entrance bays.
