Barn. Late C18. Limestone rubble with dressed stone quoins.
Stone slate roof. Rectangular plan with a central projecting
porches on the north and south sides. Lean-to extensions either
side of the porch on the south side under swept down roof slopes.
C20 lean-to extension on the north side, not of special interest.
Double doorway to porch on the north side now blocked with concrete
blocks and a C20 plate glass window. C20 double doors made of
chipboard to the porch in opposite wall. Blocked single doorway to
right with C20 two-light casement inserted in the blocking. Single
doorway to left of the porch. Blocked single width doorway in the
right gable end with a 2-light casement inserted in the blocking.
Partially blocked pitching door above. Single-width doorway with a
segmental-head to the gable end of the lean-to on left. Blocked
pitching window in the opposite gable end. Ventilation slits.
Oval holes in gable ends. Roof of porch on the south side hipped.
Flat coping at gable ends. Ball finials at gable ends.
Interior; 6 bays. Original collar and tie beam roof trusses.
Triple through purlins. Segmental heads to archways over the
double width openings to each porch. Granary with partially
plastered walls within roof space of hipped porch. Graffiti 'JOHN
HARWARD --B-B 1771/72' on a dressed stone quoin where the north
porch breaks forwards.
