Description

BARRINGTON BARRINGTON PARK
SP 2013-2113
10/21 Twin-gabled house c50m east of
Barrington Park House

GV II

Exterior and interior not accessible at the time of resurvey, May
1986. House. C17. Coursed squared and dressed limestone.
Stone slate roof with an ashlar stack. Two storeys and attic.
Possibly three Cotswold dormers to the entrance (south) front twin
gables at the rear. Flat-chamfered plinth. Two and 3-light
stone-mullioned casements with stopped hoods. Probably three
Tudor-arched doorways to the south front. Coped gables. Finials
to the gables at the rear. Exterior and interior not accessible
at the time of resurvey. This building appears to correspond to
the building immediately west of the original manor house (largely
burnt down by fire in 1736) and is shown in the engraving by Kip
in R. Atkyns, The Ancient and Present State of Gloucestershire,
1712.
