Detached farmhouse. Mid-late C18. Ashlar facade otherwise coursed
squared and dressed limestone. Stone slate roof, with ashlar
stacks. Rectangular plan to main body with successive later
extensions rear left. Two storey, five-windowed facade. All
windows 2-light double-chamfered stone-mullioned metal casements
with early fastenings, set slightly proud of the facade. Moulded
hoods to all the ground floor windows. The hoods are superimposed
on a plain band. C19 four-panelled front door off-centre right
with a flat-chamfered surround. The door retains its original
knocker, flat canopy supported on moulded brackets over the door.
Flat coping at the gable ends. Gable-end and axial stacks with
moulded cappings and skirtings to the main body. Lateral stack to
extension at rear. Looped iron railing set on a low coursed and
dressed limestone wall runs across the house front. The railing
terminates in a coursed squared and dressed limestone pier with a
pyramidal capping at the left end of the railing.
Interior, fielded shutters to windows, interior otherwise not
accessible. House empty and some slates off the roof at the time
of the resurvey - June 1986 . (Barrington Park Estate).
