Cottage at the end of row, formerly the Forge. C16-C17 probably
built at the same time as The Smithy (q.v.) with which it shares a
continuous moulded plinth. Coursed squared and dressed limestone.
Stone slate roof. Ashlar stack. Rectangular plan with a lean-to
extension to the right gable end. 1 1/2 storeys. Two large C20
rendered dormers lit by 3-light metal casements with glazing bars.
Single 3-light hollow-chamfered stone-mullioned casement (restored)
with stopped hood lower left. Central C20 plank door with leaded
panes at the top. C20 flat stone canopy with moulded margin,
supported on moulded brackets above. C20 double garage door within
a segmental-headed surround to the right. Single-storey lean-to to
the right gable end. Single C20 axial stack. Interior not
inspected.
