Large house. Late C17, early C18 and mid C19. Coursed squared and
dressed limestone. Stone slate and concrete tile roofing with
ashlar stacks. C20 extensions not of special interest. 'L'-shaped
plan to the C17 range with C18 range set parallel to one side. C19
service wing at right angles to the right-hand return of the other
wing. Mid C19 extension to the rear of the latter. C17 range; 2
storeys and attic: 3-light, double-chamfered stone-mullioned
casement to the ground floor, ground floor otherwise obscured by
C20 extensions. Similar 2 and 3-light stone-mullioned casements to
the first floor. C18 range; 3 storeys with a twin-gabled garden
front. Two French doors to the ground floor. Former sash windows
to the first and second floors replaced by C20 aluminium sashes
without glazing bars. Windows and doors within dressed stone
surrounds. C19 range; 1 1/2 storeys with 5-light canted bay with
stone mullions and transoms to the ground floor of the garden
front. Stone cross window acting as a half dormer immediately
above with 2-light stone-mullioned casement to the right. Stone-
mullioned cross-windows to the left gable end. Single-storey, C19
entrance porch extension to the rear of the latter with a canted
front and a C19 plank door with fillets, flanked by plain
pilasters. Single-light and 2-light stone mullioned casements in
the side walls. Flat coped gables. Gable-end and lateral stacks.
