1/271 Garden Cottage and adjoining wall
Cottage set in wall of walled garden, formerly associated with Wick
Hill House (q.v.). Mid C19. Cottage; red brick with a slate
roof and brick stacks, wall, brick with limestone coping.
Rectangular cottage with wall running for cl5m to the west and as
far as the entrance to Lane End on the north. C20 lean-to at rear
of cottage not of special interest. Two storeys attic and cellar.
Symmetrical facade; brick pilasters at the corners, three 3-light
stone-mullioned lancet-headed casements to the ground floor,
single-light and 2-light stone-mullioned casements. All casements
with triangular glazed spandrels. Two C20 four-light timber-clad
dormers. Gable-end stacks. Flat coped gables. Interior not
inspected. Wall; ranges from 4-7.5m in height, ramped in places.
Flat coping. Single width doorways with segmental heads. Brick
pilasters to the outer side of the wall. Interior not inspected.
