11/96 Cottage dated 1842


Cottage, dated and initialled 'E.T./1842' on the gable end facing
the road. Limestone rubble with dressed stone quoins; slate
roof; ashlar and artificial stone stacks. Rectangular plan with
lean-to to the gable end away from the road. Symmetrical, 3-
windowed facade lit by 2-light wooden casements with segmental
heads (central first floor window is blind). Central segmental-
headed plank door with single glass pane within a single segmental
headed 2-light casement at rear. Two blocked (?)pigeon holes with
landings, to attic at the right gable end. Flat coped gables and
gable-end stables. Interior not inspected. In poor condition at -
time of survey (September 1986).
