Large detached house. Late C17-early C18 and mid-late C18 (the
later range by Howse). Limestone rubble; stone slate roof; stack
with dressed stone quoins (restored C20). 'L'-shaped early range
(formerly 3 cottages) with a later extension rear left; mid-late
C18 extension set at a higher level at the right gable end. C20
extension not of special interest. Early range: 2 storeys and
attic; later range 2 storeys. South-west front of the early
range: 9, 12 and 20-pane sashes (one with a dressed stone
architrave) all appear to be later insertions to the ground floor.
Four 2-light stone-mullioned casements with stopped hoods to the
first floor; 12-pane sash far left: three C20 rendered 2-light
roof dormers with glazing bars. C20 hipped porch off-centre right,
C19 fielded 4-panel door within porch. Gable end of the mid-late
C18 extension to the right with a 12-pane sash to the first floor.
Tripartite sash at first floor level on the north-west with
stylized triangular pediment, frieze and flanking columns. Both
ranges have some hipped gables. Gable-end and axial stacks.
