6/191 Downs Farm Cottages


Pair of farm cottages. Early C19. Coursed roughly squared and
dressed limestone; stone slate roof with brick stacks. Rectangular
plan. 1 1/2 storeys. Five-windowed entrance (west) front. All
windows 2-light, casements some with timber lintels, one with a
flat-arched head. Two C19 plank doors, one with a flat-arched
head. Five raking half dormers. Gable-end and axial stacks.
Interior not inspected. (Large number of slates off the roof of
the left-hand cottage at the time of resurvey - October 1986).
