Former priest's house formerly with a first floor hall (now
subdivided) reputed to date from c1470, later divided into three
then two cottages, now one house; extended probably C18 or C19;
altered and extended C20. Limestone rubble with dressed stone
quoins; stone slate roof; ashlar stacks (restored C20).
Rectangular plan formerly with C18 - C19 single-storey extension to
the east gable end; with upper storey added to mid C20. 1 1/2
storeys. One 2-light and two 3-light double-chamfered stone-
mullioned casements with stopped hoods to the ground floor; Three
C20 half dormers. All stone mullioned casements C19 or C20. Lower
left-hand window set within the blocking of a wide doorway with
dressed stone jambs. C20 central doorway with 6 glazed panes at
the top and a C20 stone canopy on stone brackets above. Projecting
stack at the left gable end; former gable-end stack now
incorporated in the extension to the east gable end. Churchyard
front: one single-light and two 2-light casements with glazing bars
and timber lintels to the ground floor; single light stair light
with a concrete lintel between the two floors off-centre right;
single-light C20 half dormer with concrete lintel upper left; 2-
light C20 gabled roof dormer upper right.
Interior: beams with deep flat chamfers and run-out stops; open
fireplace with bread oven. Medieval roof (visible above the C20
plastered ceilings to the first floor rooms): 3-bays with arch-
braced collar beams; in a halved apex and double butt purlins some
single curved windbraces. The south side of the house overlooks
the graveyard and church (q.v.).
