Manor house. Mid C17, interior altered c18, extended early C20.
Thinly-bedded limestone with dressed stone quoins; stone slate roof
with ashlar stacks (one now rendered). 'T'-shaped plan to C17
range; early C20 extension to roadside front. Late C19 lean-to
extension to rear, not of special interest. Two storeys and attic
and cellar. Three large Cotswold dormers (facing road) with fourth
dormer added C20 far left. C17 range: C20 two and 3-light hollow-
chamfered stone-mullioned casements to the ground floor; single
original stone-mullioned casement to the right of porch. C17
two and 3-light stone-mullioned casements to the first floor;
continuous dripmould spanning the three windows over the porch;
C17 two-light stone-mullioned casements to the gables. Early C20
studded plank door within a late C19 early stone-built porch with
2-light stone-mullioned casements to the side walls. Two and 3-
light stone-mullioned casements with stopped hoods to the gable;
upper part of former 3-light stone-mullioned casement to cellar
below. Two and 3-light stone-mullioned casements to rear. All
casements with leaded panes and stopped hoods. Extension: large
3-light stone-mullioned casement with stopped hood to the ground
floor matching casement above; small single-light casement with
leaded panes to the gable. Stepped coping to gables. Axial and
gable-end stacks.
Interior: C18 openwell staircase, contemporary panelling to stair
well; large Tudor-arched stone fireplace within the front right-
hand room; beams with deep flat-chamfers and moulded stops;
inglenook fireplace with bressumer within kitchen range at right
angles to rear. Ground floor only inspected.
