Large house, marked as Lodge Farm on the 6 inch O.S. map. Mid C17,
extended early-mid C20. Limestone rubble with dressed stone
quoins; stone slate roof with ashlar stacks. Original plan 'T'-
shaped with a stairs projection on the north; rectangular early-
mid C20 extension to the east now gives an 'H'-shape to the over
all plan. Two storeys attic and cellar. South elevation: gables
project left and right. Gable of C17 range now covered with
incised render: 2-storey C19 three-light ashlar bow window: 20-
pane sash to the ground floor flanked by segmental-headed 15-pane
fixed casements; segmental-headed 2-light casements to the first
floor; band between the floors; stone balustrade. Two, 3 and 4-
light C20 hollow-chamfered stone-mullioned casements to the range
between the two gables; single 2-light slate-hung roof dormer.
Double C20 glazed door left within an original roll-moulded
surround (restored at the top). Stone-mullioned casements to the
gable of the C20 range. West elevation of the C17 range: upper
part of 2-light double-chamfered stone-mullioned casement visible
off-centre left. Ground floor from left to right: rectangular 6-
light bay window with hexagonal and diamond leaded panes; double-
width entrance to the right with a small 2-light casement inserted
in the blocking; stone steps up to three C20 part-glazed doors
with glazing bars; remnants of a continuous string over the ground
floor windows. Two and 3-light double-chamfered stone-mullioned
casements with stopped hoods to the first floor and attic (one with
timber mullions). C20 range in Cotswold style with stone-mullioned
windows. Gabled porch with reused early plank door with star-
shaped studds on the east. Axial and projectng lateral stacks;
flat coping and roll-moulded coping; moulded kneelers. Interior
not inspected.
