C17 with early/mid C18 front. Ashlar. Modern pitched roof. Two storeys. Modillion eaves cornice and parapet. Five ranges of double-hung sash windows, with glazing bars, moulded architraves and keystones. Door with fanlight and moulded stone architrave. C19 porch with two Ionic columns, dentilled cornice and pediment. Flanking this are C19 oblong bays replacing original ground floor windows. Three modern attic dormers, replacing ones with alternate triangular and segmental pediments. Rear has mullioned windows with hoodmoulds.

Interior: staircase contemporary; panelled to dado height; dado ramped to principal muntins which are fluted Corinthian pilasters; turned balusters; columnar newels. Main ground floor room wainscotted throughout; modillioned and dentilled cornice. Chimneypiece has overmantel with shouldered architrave and very elaborate acanthus carved scrolls; flanked by giant fluted Corinthian pilasters taking full entablature. One first floor room wainscotted throughout. Fireplace with fluted keystone; overmantel; fluted Roman Doric pilasters with full entablature, including triglyphs and guttae. Back room on ground floor has two ogee-headed recesses, formerly windows.

The Field forms a group with Huckvales and No 6 Bowbridge Lane.
