Silver Street House

II


Dwelling, formerly farmhouse. Late C17. Squared and coursed limestone, stone slate
roof. Long narrow block, stone gable stacks with moulded caps and skirts. Two
storeys and attic, 6-windowed, all stone chamfered cross-mullioned with stopped drips;
6-panel door, lower two reeded, upper panels fielded, under hood on brackets, in bay
4. Back, 2 x 2 centrally grouped modern windows, two louvred dormers, off, centre
right, plank door in heavy bead-mould frame.

Interior: ground floor, right, heavy bressumer, stone cheeked fireplace; ground
floor, left, deep bead-mould bressumer to fire with bread oven, and elliptical newel
stair to left. First floor one ventilated cupboard of c1680. 3-purlin collar roof.
