Gates, gate piers,
overthrow, railings and
boundary walls at
Chapel Antiques

II

Gates, overthrow, railings and boundary walls. Late C18. Pair iron gates with
spear-head tops under plain overthrow with lantern approached by 2 steps and with 2
within, flanked by half circle of iron railings set to dwarf wall squared limestone
blocks and weathered capping. Beyond railings, squared and coursed stone walling to
plain weathered coping about 2.3 m high, returning at boundary to cross-wing, right,
and to limit of site, left; part of left arm rebuilt with six courses of brickwork.

This ensemble of railings and walling important both for the building contained, and
to the visual impact at a road junction.
