14/1 Redhill Farmhouse
II
Detached farmhouse. Late C17; early C19 additions. Random and
coursed rubble limestone; ashlar, rendered brick and artificial
stone chimneys; plain tile roof. Two-storey with attic; stair
wing on west side. East side: scattered fenestration to central
C17 house; doorway with restored 3-centred arched lintel and
hoodmould has plank door. Altered doorway to right and single
light with stone chamfered surround above. Gabled roof dormer with
iron casement. Lean-to addition to right and conservatory porch
are not of special interest. C19 addition to left has 3-light
chamfered mullioned casement with hoodmould to ground floor; 3-
light over with hood. South end: gable end with off-centre upper
floor circular window with glazing bars; off-centre attic casement
with timber lintel. Ridge-mounted ashlar chimney. West side: 2-
window fenestration to C17 house, all 2-light. Projecting rendered
gabled stair wing to right with small single stair lights.
Segmental stone-arched doorway to C19 addition obscured by C20
flat-roofed addition which is not of special interest. North end:
small attic light below rebuilt gable end chimney. Half-hipped
roof to addition having 2-light casement on west side
Interior contains chamfered beams with pointed stepped stops.
Small framed partitions. Timber spiral staircase survives from
upper floor to attic.
