13/21 Manor Farmhouse


II

Former farmhouse, now detached house. Mid-late C17; C19
alterations. Random rubble limestone with roughcast render;
ashlar chimneys; plain tile roof. L-plan, 2-storey with attic.
Single-storey outbuilding on south east side is not of special
interest. South west side: wing projecting to right has parapet
gabled end with recessed chamfered mullioned fenestration, 3-light
to ground floor with 2-light above, both with hoodmoulds. C20
doorway to right. North west side of wing has 3-light ground floor
and 2+2-light to upper floor with 2-light in full attic parapet
gable. Main range to left has full attic gable with 2-light
window, 2-window 3-light chamfered mullioned casement fenestration
below all with hoodmoulds. C19 porch in angle with Tudor-arched
opening and Tudor-arched side window both with hoodmoulds. South
east side: parapet gable to left with single 2-light casement to
upper floor and attic, attic with lead latticed lights. Single
stair lights to right, upper floor having latticed fixed light.
Fenestration further right all timber casements. Eaves-mounted
chimney at left hand end of elevation. North east side: gable-end
to left with off-centre projecting chimney stack. Scattered C19
and C20 casements. Doorway to right of gable with 4-panel door and
porch with hipped roof. Interior suggests that wing is of earliest
date, having a former external doorway at north east end. Beyond,
the eastern corner is timber framed and probably early C18. North
western part of main range may also be early C18 but has been
altered in C19. Wing contain spiral staircase and beams with
pointed stepped stops.
