(north side), Kingscourt

15/129 Kings Head


Inn, now public house. Late C17; mid C19 remodelling of C18
addition. Coursed and random rubble limestone; ashlar and brick
chimneys; stone slate and concrete plain tile roofs. Two-storey
with attic; 2-storey addition. Front: full gable to C17 part to
left with 2-window 3-light chamfered mullioned casement
fenestration with hoodmoulds and relieving arches; 2-light attic
casement with hoodmould in gable. West gable end: blocked
doorway, ashlar gable-mounted chimney with plain cap. Small
outbuilding addition. Large C18 addition to east has C19 front
with 3-window cross window fenestration having hoodmoulds. C20
flat-roofed addition obscuring left ground floor cross windows is
not of special interest. East gable end: brick gable-mounted
chimney. Off-centre single-light attic casement. Interior not
