16/197 Dovecote approximately 100m north
west of Woodchester House

Dovecote. Mid C19. Red brick; limestone ashlar dressings and
plinth; felt roof. Two-storey. Gables to east and west with
pigeon holes and brick perches. Plain corner pilasters; plain
upper floor level banding; corbelled eaves, corbelling continuing
below gables. Various openings, different on each face, include
single 3-centred arched window opening to each floor on east side
and segmental arched doorway with quatrefoil over on south side.
Internal floor removed. Stands in landscaped pasture well away
from Woodchester House (q.v.). In dilapidated condition at time
of survey (December 1985).
