(east side), South Woodchester

16/199 Home Farm

GV II

Detached house. c1840. Coursed rubble limestone with ashlar
dressings; artificial stone rebuilt chimneys; concrete tile roof.
Two-storey with cellar built into bank; rear wing. Front: 3-
window 12-pane sash fenestration; off-centre doorway having 4-
panel door and stone lintel, with inserted shop window to right
with timber lintel and large small-paned casement. Ridge-mounted
rebuilt chimneys. East side: irregular angled end wall with 3
facets and hipped roof. Single-window fenestration to each facet,
mostly 12-pane sashes; plank doors to cellar. Adjoining
retaining walls, that projecting to north with hoop-topped iron
railings. West: low-pitched gable end with off-centre mixed sash
fenestration. Wing to right has large louvred vent at high level.
Sash fenestration to rear. Interior not inspected. A modest
building with some C20 alterations, occupying a crucial position at
the south end of the main village street with roads forking either
side.
