(west side), South Woodchester

18/203 Winslow House


Detached house. c1830. Ashlar limestone; smooth render incised
as ashlar; coursed rubble limestone; ashlar and rendered
chimneys; Welsh slate roof. Three-storey. Outbuilding and
garage addition on south side is not of special interest. Front:
low-pitched parapet gable end with central chimney having small
round arched recess in face and moulded cap. Three-window sash
fenestration to ground and middle floors, all having unusual
arrangement of 10 panes; blank recess to centre of middle floor.
Two upper floor 6-pane sashes. Plain corner pilasters and eaves-
level band. South side: smooth incised render. Round arched
doorway with C20 glazed door and C19 conservatory porch; C19
canted bay window to left with lean-to roof. Two upper floor
sashes with raised architraves and glazing bars as to front.
North side: coursed rubble with scattered fenestration including
early iron casement to upper floor and casements below. Sashes to
2 floors to right with marginal lights; eaves-mounted chimney with
plain cap to left. Two rear gables with mixed sash fenestration.
