SO 80 SW WOODCHESTER FROGMARSH LANE
(east side)

4/221 Mill Cottage


GV II

Detached house. Mid C17; late C18 addition. Coursed rubble
limestone; brick chimneys; stone slate roof. Two-storey with
attic. South side: gable to C17 part to right with single-window
fenestration; 3-light to ground floor with hoodmould extending to
left over doorway with plank door; off-centre upper floor 2-light
and attic 2-light, all recessed cavetto mullioned casements with
hoodmoulds. Two former large segmental openings to later addition
to left, now blocked. Similar fenestration on north side except
C20 replacement ground floor casement with concrete lintel. West
end: gable end with 2 brick blocked upper floor openings under
continuous timber lintel; blocked circular opening in gable above.
Interior not inspected. Forms part of group with north west part
of Frogmarsh Mill to south (q.v.).
