4/222 North west part of Frogmarsh Mill

Formerly house, now part of, and incorporated into mill. Early
C17; mid C19 alterations. Random and coursed rubble limestone,
partially roughcast rendered; chimneys formerly ashlar, now cut
down; stone slate roof, some corrugated roofing on east side.
Two-storey with attic. Attached to north end of long workshop
range, possibly also gabled originally as north part. West side:
2 gables, right with higher workshop range abutting. Two-light
chamfered mullioned casement to each gable with hoodmoulds;
similar casements, some blocked, to ground floor. Inserted
workshop windows to upper floor are probably early C19.
Continuation of range with segmental arched fenestration to right
is not of special interest. North end: central gable with
projecting chimney stack cut down. Upper foor single-light
recessed cavetto moulded casement to left with hoodmould. Various
lean-tos and outbuildings obscure ground floor. East side: 2
gables, right with 3-light upper floor and 2-light attic casements
with hoodmoulds. Interior not inspected. Now forms part of
Frogmarsh Mill, a cloth mill until the start of pin manufacturing
in mid C19. Currently a tannery.
