17/262 Wall with gates and gatepiers
to west of Southfield House


GV II

Wall with 2 sets of gatepiers. Mid C18. Ashlar limestone; iron
and timber gates. Plain ashlar wall wth moulded coping. Two
gateways with square piers having banded rustication, moulded
cornices and large gadrooned flaming urns. Left gate in iron, on
line of former entrance to c1690 part of Southfield House; right
with timber plank gates. Boundary extends to south with C19 iron
gates and plain pier supporting gas lamp; kissing gate adjacent.
