8/6 Old Farm
(formerly listed with The Mount
17.9.52 House as Cottage to south-east).


Detached house. Late C16 core, enlarged probably in C17, restored
in 1960s. Rubble stone with quoins to left, rear faced in
roughcast, Cotswold stone slate roof, rebuilt stone stacks. L-plan
with through passage in main range, 2 storeys and attic. Scattered
and renewed fenestration, mostly 2 or 3-light wood casements with
wood lintels. Two C20 doors, facing into angle. 3 hipped dormers,
also facing into angle. Interior: ground floor room rear right
has very large chamfered cross beams and remnants of large
fireplaces at each end of the roof. Passage runs behind fireplace
in centre of house.
