12/39 Gatepiers at Alkerton Grange
GV II
Pair of gatepiers immediately south of Alkerton Grange (q.v.).
Late C18. Square brick piers on stone bases chamfered to front
only, with alternating stone chamfered quoins, moulded stone
cornice and large curved pyramidal cap with plain wide urn-like
finials, about 3.5m total height; attached on outer side of both
piers is small section of brick wall with ramped coping.
