Former farmhouse and outbuildings, now 2 cottages. Church Court
Cottage (former farmhouse) probably early C17; Church End
(outbuildings) probably late C17/early C18. Church Court Cottage
is partial square panel timber-framing with rendered infill to
front, concrete tile roof, brick ridge stack. Rear has some tile
roof and end section of long rear wing is painted brick with
pantile roof. Single range with 2 rear wings, single storey and
attic, probably cross passage plan. Three large inserted evenly
set gabled dormers through eaves with 3-light casements, with 2-
light casement and vents below. Plank door to left of stack, with
wide C19 gabled porch. Church End is brick on slag plinth,
concrete tile roof with coped verges and kneelers. Single range
of 2 storeys and attic, adjoining Church Court Cottage to south
east, with lean-to addition to north. Front gable end has wide 2-
light cambered head casements to first floor and attic, and C20
door and porch below. Elevation to Church Court Cottage has one
3-light to each floor. Interior contains chamfered and stopped
beams. Church Court Cottage may formerly have contained crucks,
no longer apparently existing.
