Hathaway Monument, about 2m south of west tower in churchyard of Church of St. James

Pedestal tomb. Elizabeth Hathaway, 1775. Sandstone. Moulded cap
with flat acanthus relief and rounded top, with additional semi-
circular side pieces to base of cap. Moulded plinth and capping,
in large surround probably formerly railed. Half-round ends have
rope pattern astragal and applied wrapped oval panels. Sides have
large oval panels with rope pattern moulding and floral carving in
"spandrels". Very badly eroded to ends and north side at time of
survey (December 1985).
