4/198 Thirteen Unidentified Monuments,
about 7m north of porch in church-
yard of Church of St. Peter
Chest and pedestal tomb, line of 8 headstones running north from
west end of chest tomb, and 3 coffin tombs to east of pedestal
tomb. All limestone.
Chest tomb - unidentified, 179-. Flat top, moulded plinth and
capping on base, gadrooned quarter balusters, large ovals to sides
with moulded edge, and draped leaves to south, ends with recessed
high reliefs of weeping lady to west, urn to east.
Headstones - late C17/early C18. All with cherub's head in carved
surround. Varying sizes. Fifth in line from south not of special
Pedestal tomb - late C18. Curved pyramidal cap, finial missing.
Moulded capping, tall moulded plinth, frieze with reeded sections.
Tombstone shape panels to each face, all very eroded and partially
overgrown at time of survey (January 1986).
Coffin tombs - possibly late C16/early C17. Two very plain, that
to north triangular in section with thick low headstone with cross
in relief. In row from north to south.
