II
Farmhouse. Late C16/early C17 core, enlarged to west in early
C19. Coursed and dressed stone with large flush quoins, stone
slate roof, large external stack to right hand return of cross
gabled wing with moulded cornice, small ashlar end and ridge stacks
to long range. L-shape range with cross gabled wing of 2 storeys
and attic as short arm and 2 former C19 cottages of 2-storeys in
long range joining up with probable former outbuilding to far left.
Core wing has 3/4/4-light ovolo-moulded stone mullions with square
hoodmould on south gable end, first floor 4-light with king
mullion, ground floor 4-light renewed. Chamfered 2 and 3-light
stone mullions to remaining fenestration. West side has large
former entrance with keystone and voussoirs blocked by C20 window.
C19 range of 2 former cottages has to each 3-light wood casement
over 3-light stone mullion with 6-panel door to right, flush panels
with top 2 glazed, under cambered heads. Large slate-roofed rear
lean-to on part stone, part brick walls, mainly of C19.
