Four monolithic slabs with plates; one pedestal tomb. Late C18-
mid C19. Limestone with brass plates. Group comprises: 4 slabs
on stepped bases, each with oval brass plate, one with 2 plates.
Plates inscribed to William and Sarah Butcher, died 1800 and 1790
by COOK of Minchinhampton; Thomas and John Butcher, died 1824 and
1827 by FREEBURY of Stroud; children of Samuel and Elizabeth
Butcher, died 1873 and 1883 by FREEBURY of Stroud. Two plates on
one slab to SAMUEL BUTCHER, died 1854 by FREEBURY, other to WILLIAM
KIMBER BUTCHER, died 1796. Rectangular pedestal tomb with recessed
side and end panels; cavetto top and moulded plinth. Inscriptions
illegible.
