Two houses in row. Late C17; early-mid C18 addition. Random
rubble limestone; ashlar chimneys; stone slate roof, concrete
tile to rear. Two-storey with attic; rear wing to each house.
Front: two full gables to earlier house (Chestnut Cottage) to
left, scattered fenestration, 2-light recessed chamfered mullioned
casement with hoodmould to each floor below left gable. Two 2-
light casements to ground and upper floor below right gable; small
2-light in gable. Central C20 gabled porch addition. Two offset
buttresses to right. Central ridge-mounted chimney with moulded
cap. Two-window fenestration to later house, right (Ivy Cottage),
all 2-light chamfered mullioned casements, one 3-light with
hoodmould. Central doorway with rustic gabled porch; chamfered
segmental arched door opening with old plank door. Central gabled
dormer with iron casement. West end: single-window fenestration,
3-light to ground floor, 2-light to each floor above. Interior
not inspected.
