10/21 Little France Corner and Fernleigh

GV II

Two attached houses. Early C18; partial rebuilding late C18 and
early Cl9. Coursed rubble limestone; ashlar chimneys; concrete
tile roof. Two-storey with attic; both houses form L-plan. Front
of Little France Corner: 3-window fenestration, all chamfered
mullioned 2-light casements with continuous dripmoulds. Central
doorway with stone lintel and C20 glazed door. Parapet gable ends
with gable-mounted chimneys. South side: set back behind lower
part of Little France Corner is front of Fernleigh. Scattered
casement fenestration, mostly 2-light chamfered mullioned
casements, one leaded. Central doorway with stone lintel and
glazed porch addition. Two C20 eaves-mounted gabled roof dormers.
East end: indications of raised roofline.
Interior: Fernleigh has some panelled window seats. Forms part of
group with France Corner (q.v.).
