Park View Cottages

Former detached house, now row of 4 houses. Early C17; altered
mid C19. Random rubble limestone, mostly roughcast rendered;
ashlar and artificial stone rebuilt chimneys; stone slate roof.
Two-storey with attic, cross-wing at east end. South front: cross
wing projects forward to right with altered casement to ground
floor and attic; upper floor 2-light recessed chamfered mullioned
casement on west side of wing, one light blocked. Gabled stair
turret in angle with remainder of range to left, 2 single stair
lights on front face, another in angle on west side. Mixed
fenestration to range, some recessed cavetto mullioned casements
with hoodmoulds, two 2-lights to upper floor, one ground floor 3-
light, mostly restored. Two doorways with stone lintels. Timber
casements otherwise, probably replacing mullioned windows. Two
gabled roof dormers. Several ridge-mounted chimneys, one with
moulded cap. West end: 2-light mullioned attic casement with
hoodmould in exposed masonry gable end. East end: 2-window
fenestration to side of cross wing, central doorway having C19
timber porch. Four-pane upper floor sashes. Interior not
inspected.
