The description shall be amended to read:

Mill building. Early C19 (probably 1823); mid C19 addition (Building
28). Coursed limestone rubble; ashlar chimney to south gable; stone
slate and concrete tile roofs. Rectangular 9-bay plan (28) with 2-bay
addition (29) at centre of east side. 2 storeys with basement open
to east side. East side: 9 segmental-arched openings, probably for
storing wagons or implements. Later raking buttresses. Four wide
segmental-arched casements to each floor above, inner two partially
obscured by addition. Projecting addition incorporates segmental-
arched throughway and mixed casement fenestration. South gable end:
2 attic fixed lights, with chimney above. North gable end: 2 large
fixed-light windows to upper floor with combining timber lintel; left
fixed-light above.
Interior: Building 28 has chamfered beams and joists, stone flag
floor, stone lintels over fireplaces to south gable, central dog-leg
stair and mid C19 nine-bay collar truss roof with cast-iron shoes for
purlins. Segmental-arched entry from first floor to Building 27 which
has hand winch dated 1871 with hoist wheel above from previous
arrangement. The addition of Building 27 suggests that Building 28
was used for storage only from the mid C19.

Three-storey, 9 bays long. Two bay wide addition at centre of east
side. East side: 9 segmental arched openings to ground floor,
some blocked. Later raking buttresses. Four wide segmental arched
casements to each floor above, inner 2 partially obscured by
addition. Projecting addition incorporates segmental arched
throughway and mixed casement fenestration. South end: 2 attic
fixed-lights in gable; small chimney above. North end: 2 large
fixed-light windows to upper floor with combining timber lintel;
loft fixed-light above. Attached C20 building on west side is not
of special interest. Interior not inspected. Mill formerly
powered by water from side stream until constructon of Gatcombe
Water in 1806. Probably the corn mill recorded as existing in
1808, although originally built as cloth mill.
