Former detached house, now club house. Mid-late C17; enlarged
mid-late C18. Random rubble limestone; ashlar chimneys; stone
slate roof. Two-storey with attic; extended to south. North
side: formerly front of C17 house, obscured to right by late C19
additional wing with east-facing gable. Full parapet gable to
left with single-window fenestration below, mixed timber casements;
roughcast render to gable. East side: gable end of main C17
range to right with single-window fenestration below, altered on
ground floor to glazed doors. C18 addition to left has single
timber mullioned upper floor window with iron casement; Cl9 4-pane
sash below and doorway. Rear: projecting gabled stair turret to
C17 house. Various single-storey C20 additions are not of special
interest. Interior not inspected. Built as hunting lodge, had
become an inn by C18. In c1895 started use as golf clubhouse.
