3/375 Toadsmoor Mill

II

Former mill, now partly house. Early C19. Coursed and dressed limestone;
corrugated asbestos roof. Two-storey with attic and cellar. Return wing at west
end. Five-window fenestration to main block with 2-light casements all having
segmental arched heads. Various cellar openings, some mullioned. Lower addition
to west with cross-wing has similar fenestration. Flush roof-lights to main
block. Access obtained at upper floor level to doorway in east end over timber
bridge from bank; similar segmental arched doorways to attic and ground floor.
Circular window in east gable. Interior not inspected. Formerly a cloth mill,
known as Upper Toadsmoor Mill. (N M Herbert, 'Bisley', in VCH Glos xi, 1976,
