II

Detached villa. Early/mid C19. Ashlar with two plain cill bands, cornice and blocking cornice; front half of roof is Welsh slate, back half concrete tile, double span with coped verges and low stacks with cavetto mould copings. The back section may have been added to a simple original block as the detail seems somewhat later. Three storeys, three-windowed, 8 over 16-pane sash over two canted bays with plate-glass sashes and corniced, central pair C19 including peaked glazed tops, under transom light with margin bars in a fine bold portico with composite fluted columns, and entablature with dentilled cornice. Returns include mullioned windows with stopped hoods. Interior not inspected. An elegant example, set high above the road.
